My Skiing History:

I put on my first pair of ski boots and skis before I was two. When I was three, I competed in my first ski race, the Soda Pop slalom during the Winter Carnival at the Steamboat Springs Ski Resort. It was one of my first times off my Wee-Ski harness. I skied with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club for 11 years, skiing alpine, telemark, and even a brief stint of Nordic. I continued to race alpine for the University of Colorado club team for three years.

Growing up in Steamboat, with two ski areas within ten minutes of my house, allowed me to ski nearly every day of the ski season, enjoying blue-sky days and incredible champagne powder. Starting as an alpine ski racer, I competed in JIII and JIV Junior Olympic, USSA, and FIS races. One of my alpine coaches suggested I try telemark to improve my balance and strength for alpine racing. From the first run, I knew I had found a new passion, telemarking every chance I got. In high school, I raced telemark on the high school alpine race team as well with as the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Telemark Team, where I was lucky to have Shane Anderson, Ty Upson, Charlie Dresen and Ken Recker as my coaches. During the 2013-2014 season, I took a year off from racing telemark in order to focus on my education. I am excited to be back racing on the USTSA World Cup team again this year.

My Goals and Motivation:

My goals for this year include a top 20 result at the World Cup level and a top 2 result at Nationals.  I want to continue to push my personal abilities pass along knowledge and skills to younger generation of Telemark racer.

Why do I Telemark Race?

I love the race community. Everyone pushes each other to do their best but is still supportive for each other.

Interesting Facts About Myself:

When I am not skiing, you can find me backpacking, biking, or rock climbing.
