I started skiing at the age of 4 with my grandfather at Woods Valley and McCauley Mountain. Skiing was a part of every day in the winter, after school and each weekend. I have skied recreationally for a number of years. When I met my husband, Garrett Long, he introduced me to telemark and I have been a convert ever since. The 2015-2016 season was my first year telemark racing.
My Goals and Motivation:
The technicality and challenge of each move provide a new learning experience for me each day that I get on snow. Telemarking has also allowed me to enjoy skiing again, pain free, after multiple knee surgeries!
Competition Results:
Two first place finishes and four top 3 placements during the 2015-2016 season.
