Early Season Review

Our athletes are on the move! From World Cups to local events, USTSA athletes are in full-winter mode. In fact, with snow storms blowing in across the country it’s safe to say that winter is here to stay for a bit.

Cory Snyder

The FIS World Cup opened with La Thuile, Italy. USTSA athletes Cory Snyder and Larry Bosche both competed on what is commonly referred to as the steepest course on the World Cup circuit, with Cory landing a top 20 finish in both the Sprint and Classic. Next stop for these elite racers will be two days in France at Pralogna-la-Vanoise, be sure to tune in via livestream to stay up-to-date with all the action.

Soon enough, local skiers will be descending on Gore Mountain in New York state, for a weekend full of Sprint Classics. This will be our US opening event, and we are looking forward to being in the heart of the Adirondacks. And no rest for the wicked, the following weekend we’ll be back in New Hampshire with two days at Gunstock.

We have also recently announced this year’s Freeskiing competition – it’ll be held at Taos, New Mexico at the end of February. This Juniors only (18 and under) event is an exciting extension of the events previously held at Grand Targhee.
