My Skiing History:
I have been skiing with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club for most of my life. For the past 3 years I have been skiing with the US Telemark Ski Team and this year I have strived to compete at a high level of racing in the expert category. My coaches Ty and Charlie have inspired me to push myself to the highest level to become the best Tele Racer I can be. This year I compteted in all the local races and went off to compete in the Vermont Nationals. This was a great experience and in the end I finished 9th overall in the expert category. I look forward to improving my race times as a new athlete on the US Team.
My Goals and Motivation:
My goals for this upcoming year are to improve every aspect of my racing. One thing that I would like to improve on the most is my skating. This last year I devoted most my time to gaining seconds in the G.S. and improving my jump strategies but one aspect in my skiing that needs to improve is skating. So I am making it my main goal this upcoming year to improve my skating as much as posible.
What I love about Telemark Racing:
The thing I love most about telemark racing is the love everyone has for the sport and the camaraderie between our great coaches and racers. Most of all I enjoy the relaxed and friendly environment of telemark racing. I hope to continue being part of this environment for many years to come.
Interesting Facts About Myself:
I love to hunt, fish and mountain bike. In general I love being outdoors. I spend my summers in Alaska working on fishing boats and hunting big game. I also enjoy pheasant hunting and playing lacrosse.
Competition Results:
2013 and Earlier
I’ve won several gold medals, a silver and bronze tele racing in the youth categories, 14 and under and 16 and under.
