My Skiing History:
I started cross country skiing when I was seven and then started alpine skiing when I was twelve. I began telemark skiing when I was 18 and that was it. I had to choose because making the decision of whether to alpine or telemark was to much. It became obvious to me that telemark skiing was the way for me. And here I am 17 years later still telemark skiing and I haven’t missed many races since 2005 nationals.
My Goals and Motivation:
My goals and motivations behind telemark ski racing are to help increase the caliber of the up and coming racers. Being one of the older veteran racers I have to work harder and harder each year to stay in the pack. My goal is to see telemark skiing in the Olympics.
What I love about Telemark Racing:
What I love about telemark racing is the full circle aspect of skiing. Gates, jumping upwards of 100 feet, and skating your way to the finish. And not to be forgotten is the life long friends that have been made!
Interesting Facts About Myself:
I have been racing for the last three years with 15 screws and three plates in my left foot!!
