Join USTSA team members and Coach Ty Upson for this two day event.  Saturday will be a race clinic for all tele skiers of all levels who are interested in racing.  Learn how to inspect the course, practice in the gates, get some tips from some of the best.  Then on Sunday, take what you’ve learned and apply it on the race course in the Sprint Classic.  Even if racing is not your long term goal, the training in the gates will help your skills when skiing the trees!    The Training clinic and the race are open to all levels of telemark skiers.

The only cost is $35 for a discounted lift ticket on Saturday and $35 that includes both race entry fee and lift ticket on Sunday.

If you are racing only, the race is FREE and the discounted lift ticket will be $35.

Registration opens both days at 8:30am in the Lodge at Sunlight Mountain Resort.

Volunteers are needed.  If you are traveling with a friend, spouse or parent who can volunteer, please contact ken@ustsa.org or  check in at the registration area.

0830 hrs; Registration in Sunlight Day Lodge
0900 hrs; Lodge/deck-Camp overview/goals as well as athletes’
0915hrs: free ski GS with drills and video based on WC concepts
1130 hrs: Lunch/review
1230 hrs: GS concepts in gates, jump  fundamentals and practice, Rapp overview/strategy and practice and skate technique and execution.
These four areas will be practiced in sequence but separately run by run. Video.
1500 hrs; full length full run or two NOT in sections. Video
1600 hrs: Tear down/stage of features ect
1630 hrs: snack and video review
1830 hrs: Group dinner in Glenwood
2000 hrs: WC video review at hotel TBD

The Sprint Classic is a two run event and includes Giant Slalom Gates, a 360 degree banked turn, a jump and a Nordic skate section. No experience or speedsuit is needed, but your helmet is required. Bring Nordic skate poles to help you with the skate section. You can navigate the GS portion of the race with your skate poles prior to the skate section, you’ll be glad you have them.

All races are open to the public and there are race categories for everyone, including Citizens, Juniors and Expert men and women. Members of the US Telemark Team will be present and can provide assistance to new racers.
