My Skiing History:

I have been skiing since I was three, but I started Telemark skiing when I was only about nine. A few years ago I started racing on the Wednesday night race league on Whitefish Mountain. This will be my fourth season on the US Telemark Ski Team, and my second year on the National Team.

My Goals and Motivation:Cedar 2017 action web

My motivation comes from my coach and friend Peter McMahon (former US Team Member). He has been coaching me for almost as long as I’ve been Telemark skiing. I’ve always looked up to him and he is a role model for me. He has always pushed me to be my best and even past that. I would not be here without him. Also, I am motivated by my coaches and fellow teammates from the Montana Alpine Race School (MARS). I have recently this past season left FVSEF and joined the brand new startup of MARS. It is a team with much potential in the coming years and I am extremely happy to be a part of it. I cannot thank them enough for what they do. I am hoping to get many days in at our new home mountain Blacktail. My goals for this season are to continue climbing up the board at the expert level, improve my skate skiing, and of course try to improve my overall times.

What I Love About Telemark Racing:

Telemark racing is something completely different from all other sports, both physically and mentally. When you’re Telemark skiing or racing you feel that you can achieve anything with ease. I believe that it’s by far the most graceful sport and very fun to watch. Also you get to meet good friends and competition, sometimes even both.

Interesting Facts About Myself:

In the off-season I enjoy soccer, pole vault, hiking, biking, fishing, and the occasional rock climb.
