2013 Chamonix France – Junior World’s

USTSAThe USA was represented by Jeffrey Gay and Madi McKinstry at the Chamonix World Cup and Junior World Championships on February 9th and 10th.  Both racers had parents at the races to cheer them on.  On Saturday, Madi McKinstry brought home the Junior World’s Bronze Medal in the Sprint Classic.

Madi is spending the winter in Chamonix and is attending every World Cup Event.  She will be home next week for Nationals in Steamboat Spring, before returning to race in Norway and Spain.  Jeffrey is a student at UC Boulder and this trip was a quick break in his studies.

Saturday, February 9 – Sprint Classic
Madi was 3rd in the Juniors and 7the Overall
Jeffrey was 18th in the Juniors and 34th Overall

Junior Men’s Podium:  Tobi Mueller (GER), 2 Olle Collberg (SWE), 3 Thomas Sand Nordberg (NOR)

Men’s Podium:  1 Tobias Mueller (GER), 2 Phil Lau (FRA), 3 Mattias Wagenius (SWE)

Sunday, February 10 – Classic
Madi McKinstry reports that she was 6th today in the Junior World Classic race, Jeffrey Gay was a DNF.

Junior Men’s Podium:
