My Skiing History:
I am a former long time US Telemark Team Member returning to the team after a few years away.  I raced alpine through High School and one year d-1 NCAA at St. Lawrence before I stumbled upon tele gear and took to the woods, only to rediscover racing, this time with leather boots and three pins, upon moving back to Buffalo after a stint in Colorado working at Eldora Mtn.

My Goals and Motivation:
Return to competitive racing after some time off and dealing with knee issues. I am a full time race program director, USSS Technical Delegate and Chair of the NYS u16+ development committee. I have always felt that by putting myself in a start gate and working on my own racing that I would maintain a better feel for what it is like for the young athletes I coach and just how difficult it can be. I am very happy and motivated to hit some gates again!

What I love about Telemark Racing:
I love that Telemark offers challenges in the competitive environment beyond just gate skiing. The technical aspect of the sport is very demanding and even today you will see different styles having success on the race hill. I think this reflects a certain freedom of thought and movement that exist in Telemark skiing in the gates, trees , pow or moguls! The people are just laid back and groovy in a way the alpine cats just can not pull off!

Interesting Facts About Myself:

Full Time alpine race coach, official and development chairmen who has not skied alpine in over 30 years.

Skied a dozen years on the World Cup back before the parallel sprint was even a thing and slalom was.

I kinda think Chris Rice was the coolest racer on the planet and I know Reid Sabin was the fastest. If you don’t know who these guys are you outta find out.

My knees are both not original equipment and they feel rad, everything else hurts.

Competition Results:
A handful of 2nd place US Nationals overall, a third overall, a SL National Championship, an 11th at a WC Classic and a bunch of top 15s in World Cup races including a top 15 season overall world cup ranking.

3rd. Place overall 2012 National Championships, Gunstock NH
