- In January 1995 Glenn Gustafson of Whitefish MT became the first US Racer to compete in a FIS Telemark World Cup race, claiming 19th overall at LaPlagne, France. His teammates were delayed in their arrival due to weather. They joined Glenn and raced the next day. This was the first season that international ski racing fell under the FIS organization. However, the World Championships at Hafjell, Norway were the last sanctioned by the World Telemark Committee.
- Halsey Hewson of Jackson Hole became the first US racer to medal in FIS competition. He placed third in the giant slalom in Rauland, Norway.
