Skiing History:
I started skiing at the age of three, and began alpine racing as a junior. I worked on the Big Mountain Ski Patrol for 18 winters. I broke my ankle snowboarding before picking telemark as my favorite winter sport. I have competed in telemark racing for 15 winters. I met my wife Lexie on Big Mountain, too!

U.S. Nationals- 2nd Classic; 3rd Overall
U.S. Open- 2nd G.S.; 3rd Sprint Classic; 2nd Overall
Canadian Nationals- 1st classic; 2nd GS; 1st Overall (Hoser title, ay!!)
Northwest Telemark Series- 1st overall twice
Goals Attitude and Motivation:
My goal is to acheive my full racing ability; and to have fun and promote the sport to the younger breed of telemark skiers.
Why do you Telemark Race?
It is a great excuse to travel and I like the opportunity it provides for competing at an older age......it keeps the spirit of competition alive in my soul. Most of all, meeting new people and the making of lasting friendships.
Interesting Facts:
My brother, Steve Persons, is a former U.S. Snowboard World Cup Champion, and current U.S. Snowboarding assistant coach.
My stepbrother, Tommy Moe, is an Olympic Gold and Silver medalist.
